The General is the brain of an army who uses tactics to order his army and fight smartly in order to defeat enemy with least casualty. Additionally, every single decision made by generals will influence the result of battles. American Civil War discovered many great generals such as Robert.E.Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Ulysses S. Grant, but also some reckless generals like General Kilpatrick.
Visitors are provided with a synopsis of the life and achievement of certain generals so that audiences will understand the background information of generals and it will assist visitors to understand the effect of generals to battles. The exhibit also hopes to help audiences eliminate some misunderstanding or misconception about the war. For example Some visitors who may think Confederate Generals were evil because they support the existence of slavery. Actually they will be surprised to learn that when Confederate General Robert .E Lee retreated from Richmond, he really cared about the citizens in it and he felt guilty after he left them in the city while the North Army robbed the city.
